Hakikat dan Peran Kegiatan Laboratorium dalam Pembelajaran: Analisis Model Praktikum Cookbook Laboratorium Pada Inquiry Lab

The laboratory plays a crucial role in physics education, which is based on observation and experimentation. Principles and laws of physics are largely derived through a scientific approach, involving induction and generalization. In traditional teaching, the laboratory was used to confirm information from teachers, but its role has now expanded to train 21st-century skills. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with literature research and systematic reviews to understand the impact of laboratory activities on training and developing scientific skills. The laboratory in physics education serves various functions, including verifying information, training practical skills, fostering conceptual understanding, and strengthening higher-order thinking skills. The inquiry-based approach in the laboratory allows students to actively engage in experiments and think like scientists, with different levels ranging from discovery learning to hypothetical inquiry. The cookbook model of practicum, which is structured and easy to supervise, is effective for training laboratory skills on a large scale.
