Manuscript Types
IJET (Indonesian Journal of English Teaching) publishes original scholarly works that contribute to the development of English language teaching, English language learning, applied linguistics, and related fields. The journal welcomes manuscripts that demonstrate academic rigor, methodological soundness, originality, and relevance to English language education and research.
IJET accepts the following types of manuscripts:
1. Research Articles
Research articles report original empirical research related to English language teaching and learning. These manuscripts may employ qualitative, quantitative, or mixed-methods approaches. Topics may include teaching methodologies, language acquisition, classroom practices, curriculum development, assessment, educational technology, and other relevant areas of English language education.
Research articles should include a clear research problem, relevant theoretical framework, appropriate methodology, presentation and analysis of findings, discussion, and conclusions.
2. Review Articles
Review articles provide critical and systematic examinations of existing literature on topics relevant to English language teaching and applied linguistics. These manuscripts should synthesize previous findings, identify research gaps, evaluate theoretical or methodological developments, and propose directions for future research.
Systematic literature reviews and scoping reviews are welcome when they follow appropriate and transparent review procedures. Meta-analyses may also be considered when methodologically appropriate.
3. Conceptual and Theoretical Articles
Conceptual and theoretical articles develop, examine, or critically evaluate concepts, theories, models, and frameworks relevant to English language teaching and learning. These manuscripts should present a clear theoretical contribution, demonstrate engagement with relevant scholarly literature, and offer meaningful implications for research, pedagogy, or educational practice.
4. Classroom-Based Research and Action Research
IJET welcomes classroom-based studies and action research that investigate practical challenges in English language teaching and learning. These manuscripts should identify a relevant educational problem, explain the intervention or pedagogical strategy, describe the research procedures, and present evidence-based findings and reflections.
Submissions should demonstrate how the findings may inform teaching practices, improve learning outcomes, or support professional development among English language teachers.
5. Research-Based Innovations in English Language Teaching
This category covers studies examining innovative approaches, instructional materials, learning media, assessment instruments, digital learning platforms, and technology-enhanced pedagogies for English language education. Manuscripts should provide a clear rationale for the innovation and, where applicable, evidence of its development, validation, implementation, or effectiveness.
